Who we are
Yasu is made by RayLabs (raylabs.io) and published on the App Store by Arunavo Ray ("we" and "us"). This policy covers the Yasu app for iPhone and Apple Watch, its widgets and complications, and this website. Questions: hello@raylabs.io.
Your health data stays on your devices
Yasu reads from Apple Health only what you allow in Apple's Health sheet, and works everything out on your iPhone and Apple Watch. Your health data is never sent to us. We have no server, and Yasu has no account to sign in to.
On iPhone, Yasu can read, if you allow it:
- Heart rate variability and heartbeat series, heart rate and resting heart rate.
- Sleep, with its stages, and your breathing rate while you sleep.
- Workouts, with their active energy and effort, and cardio fitness (VO₂ max).
- Your day: steps, time in daylight, mindful minutes, sound levels around you, water and caffeine.
- Your date of birth, for heart rate zones, and your sex only if you tap See your level to compare your cardio fitness for your age and sex.
On Apple Watch, Yasu reads less: heart rate variability, heartbeat series, heart rate, resting heart rate, sleep, workouts, steps, mindful minutes, water and caffeine.
You can change what Yasu reads at any time in the Health app: tap your picture, then Apps under Privacy, then Yasu. We do not use your health data for advertising, and we never sell or share it.
What Yasu saves to Apple Health
Only if you allow it, in the same Health sheet:
- The water and caffeine you log, on your iPhone or your Watch.
- How hard a workout felt, when you rate it on your iPhone.
Check now on Apple Watch runs a short workout session so it can read your heart rate live. Yasu throws that session away when it ends, and it is never saved to Apple Health.
What else Yasu keeps on your devices
Your check-ins, moments and answers to "What was it?", your Resets and their receipts, your goals and your settings are kept in Yasu's own storage on your iPhone and Watch. Yasu's widgets and complications read a copy of your latest readings from a storage area that only Yasu can open. Your iPhone and Watch send these to each other directly, over Apple's own connection between them.
If you back up your iPhone with iCloud Backup or to a computer, the backup includes Yasu's storage, as it does for every app. If you turned on Health in iCloud, Apple syncs your Health data between your devices. Both are Apple's services, under your Apple settings and Apple's privacy policy. Yasu keeps nothing in iCloud of its own.
Deleting Yasu removes its storage from your device. What Yasu saved to Apple Health stays there until you delete it in the Health app.
Notifications
Every notification from Yasu, including stress alerts, reading notes and the trial reminder, is made and scheduled on your device. None comes from a server of ours or a push service. You can turn them off in Yasu's Settings or in your iPhone's Settings.
Usage counts
To help decide what Yasu does next, the app can send counts of what you do in it to TelemetryDeck, an analytics service made for privacy.
What can be sent:
- Which pages you open, when you reach the part of a page that needs Yasu Pro, and which locks you tap.
- When the Yasu Pro screen opens and from where, the plan you pick, and whether a purchase or restore went through.
- That you finished a Reset, a check-in or a moment, or logged a drink, with its kind but never the amount.
- Which Yasu widgets you placed, and whether you use the Watch app.
- Details TelemetryDeck adds to every count: your device model, system and app version, language, region, time zone, light or dark mode and some accessibility settings, plus a note when the app starts a session and once when it is first installed.
What is never sent: any health value, reading, Load or Readiness number, state word, the time of a reading, or anything from Apple Health. Counts carry a scrambled identifier for your install, not your name, email or Apple Account, and we do not use them to track you across other apps or websites.
"Share usage", in Yasu's Settings, is on by default. Turn it off and Yasu stops sending counts of what you do. The analytics library may still send its own session and first-install notes with the device details above, but nothing about what you do in the app.
Purchases
Yasu Pro is bought through Apple. Apple takes the payment, and we never see your card or payment details. Apple's privacy policy covers that part.
Yasu uses RevenueCat to confirm whether you have Yasu Pro. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID that it makes for your install, your App Store purchase records (the plan, its price and currency, your store's country, and the dates it started, renews or ends) and basic device details such as the app and system version. It does not receive your name, your email or any health data.
What we never do
We do not sell your data, show ads, or track you across other companies' apps and websites. Yasu has no advertising code, and no health data ever leaves your devices for us or for anyone else.
This website
yasu.raylabs.io sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from other websites. The company that hosts it may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages asked for, to run and protect the site.
Children
Yasu is not made for children under 13, and it collects nothing from anyone beyond what this policy describes.
Your choices
- Change what Yasu reads or saves in the Health app at any time.
- Turn off notifications in Yasu's Settings or your iPhone's Settings.
- Turn off Share usage in Yasu's Settings.
- Delete Yasu to remove its storage from your device.
We do not hold your health data and do not know who you are, so there is little we can look up. For a question or a request about the usage counts or purchase records above, write to hello@raylabs.io.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
